Imagine reading a news article about a murderer, child predator, rapist, or terrorist.
Now consider this... what would you think of a judge who simply let them go free with no punishment?
Everyone understands justice. God has given all people light and a moral compass.
A good judge will make sure that just punishment is given for the crimes committed.
Yet most people are hoping that God is "good" and "loving" and will let everyone go free without just punishment after death when He judges them. If that were true, He would not be a "good" judge by definition.
