5. Enmity with God

The word of God in James 4:4 says, "The friendship of the world is enmity with God... whoseoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
Webster's 1828 Dictionary defines enmity as:
The quality of being an enemy; the oppositie of friendship; ill will; a fixed or rooted hatred.
In the garden, God told the serpent that He would put enmity between the serpent and the woman, and between the serpent's seed and her seed.
